Mark has been a steadfast member of the business since his parents established the original accounting practice back in 1967 while he was still at high school. In stark contrast with today’s digital, cloud-based world, Mark recalls a time when bank statements were manually prepared, cash books and ledgers were hand-written and tax returns were completed on standardised paper forms supplied by the ATO. Tax updates were only published twice yearly, and significant emphasis was placed on the importance of regular face-to-face meetings with clients.

After a long and respected career in the practice, Mark has gradually transitioned his clients to the younger accountants, but still interacts with a small portfolio of long-standing clients whom he assists with the holding of assets (particularly commercial property) in their SMSFs. Mark’s colleagues at BSP Advisory also benefit enormously from his commercial wisdom and local knowledge.

Mark enjoys cycling, swimming, golf, surfing, being outdoors and spending time with his family.
